Dunedin Cares Girl Power June Drive

FEMININE CARE PRODUCT DRIVE

The number of families in the USA needing assistance from food pantries continues to increase every year. The lack of access to menstrual health products for people who are either homeless or low-income is appalling. These necessary products are not covered by SNAP or any other welfare program.  Each month, this leaves countless people without the products many of us take for granted.

During the month of June, please help to support Dunedin Cares’ “Girl Power” feminine care product drive by donating maxi pads, mini pads, panty liners and tampons. Or make a monetary donation to Dunedin Cares (cash, check or online) and identify your donation is in support of our “Girl Power” drive. With your help, we can help so many who cannot afford these necessary products.

Dunedin Cares PB&J Challenge…and More for April!

PB & J Challenge

Through April 30

Calling All: SCHOOLS • CHURCHES • TEAMS • CIVIC GROUPS • LOCAL BUSINESSES • HOAs

Summer vacation increases the financial hardship on families who need to provide breakfast and lunch for their children.

Summer also represents the pantry’s slowest donation months, and our guests’ visits are up 200% from last year! This concern means ALL food donations are needed, and PB&J is just the beginning.

We are 100% dependent on incoming donations all year. Monetary contributions can be made on our website – include team name! $1 = 1 lb.!

A sample of what we need: Any Non-Perishable, Lunch Items, Snack Items, Pancake Mix / Syrup, Sugar, Cooking Oil, Canned Pasta Sauce, Condiments, Paper towels, Canned Fruit & Fruit Cups

Easy-open packaging/plastic containers are always appreciated! No bulk containers, please!

Celtic Christmas Concert December 16 at 7:30 pm

The Scottish American Society of Dunedin is hosting a second annual Celtic Christmas Concert December 16 at 7:30 pm. We offer an evening of exciting and heart warming holiday music and song. Singer, dancer, guitarist Dave Curley and fiiddle and whistle player Colin Farrell are currently residents at Disney’s Raglan Road Irish Pub at Disney Springs in Orlando. The Isle of Skye Dancers and the Progressive Arts Drama Group will also perform. Our show promises to be a fast-paced evening with brilliant musicianship and dynamic arrangements of classic songs and tunes. Don’t miss this amazing night of holiday favourites.

Tickets are available for $25 at Eventbrite or at The Celtic Shop of Dunedin, 354 Main Street, Downtown Dunedin (CASH ONLY PLEASE). This year we are limiting tickets to allow for social distancing. Masks are required for everyone’s safety.

In support of Dunedin Cares, we will provide bins at the entry for your donations of non-perishable items. Thank you for your generosity.
