Insects are all around us, some beautiful some annoying and some outright dangerous! Learn about this fascinating and diverse group of organisms.

Basic identification and ecology will be explored in this introduction to insects.

Featured Speaker: Apollo O’Neil, Certified Arborist

Mr. O’Neil will share how O’Neil Tree Service helped with the preservation of the historic Baranoff Oak in Safety Harbor.

Tips will be shared on maintaining and caring for the trees that grow in established gardens in our area. Prevention prior to the hurricane season.  What to look for and what to do in advance of the storms will be discussed.

Dunedin Garden Club August Meeting

Dunedin Garden Club meeting will feature speaker Holly Yates on “Growing Orchids and African Violets” at 2:00 PM.  Holly is a former educator, who started a retail nursery and custom landscape/pond design company in 1990 and transitioned to working solely with Orchids in 1997. Holly writes: “Over the last 20 years I’ve ensured my customers’ success by providing only the best fresh cut Orchids and hand-selected Orchid plants”.  Samples of her stock will be for sale. She offers Opportunity drawings for plants and bouquets!

Dunedin Garden Club January 2019 Meeting

We will learn about creating a pollinator-friendly garden habitat, why insect pollination is important for pollinating fruits and vegetables, and about the difference between honey bees and native bee pollinators.
