North Pinellas County Democratic Club June 2022 Monthly Meeting – In-Person and via ZOOM

June 16, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

North Pinellas Democratic Party

On Thursday, June 16th, the North Pinellas County Democratic Club will be proud to host four (4) unique individuals who will discuss the state of affairs locally and within Florida. Our in-person meeting will be held at the Scottish Cultural Center, 917 Louden Avenue in Dunedin.  The meeting starts with social time at 6:30 pm, followed by the business meeting at 7:00 pm. We’ll provide a Zoom link on June 15 for anyone who wishes to join virtually.  Our guests will be:

  • Amy Weintraub is the Reproductive Rights Program Director for Progress Florida. She chairs the Reproductive Rights Task Force for Florida NOW and has worked most of her adult life identifying, educating, and activating citizens toward social justice.
  • Lacy Hollings is the current Campaign Chair for the Pinellas County Democratic Executive Committee. She is the former District chair for District 65, a graduate of the University of Southern California, and a US Army veteran. She will provide us with information on how we can each become more involved in the 2022 Elections.
  • Allison Miller is a candidate for State Attorney for the 6th Judicial Circuit, which covers Pinellas and Pasco counties.  She has worked as a Public Defender for nearly 15 years after having interned at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. She has been recognized by the Florida Bar as an expert in criminal trial law. She is an advocate for a more fair criminal justice system in order to decrease community alienation.
  • Carl Zimmermann will begin our rotation of candidates who are running in the non-partisan race for the Pinellas County School Board, Seat 3. Mr. Zimmermann has over 30 years of classroom teaching experience in Pinellas County and was Teacher of the Year six (6) times. In 2003, he was the State of Florida Journalism Teacher of the Year and represented Florida District 65 in the State Legislature from 2012 – to 2014.

You won’t want to miss the June 16 meeting at the Scottish Cultural Center, 917 Louden Ave in Dunedin.
