Haggis Celtic Concerts Present Screaming Orphans
February 7, 7:30-10 pm, the Scottish American Society of Dunedin hosts a Celtic concert featuring the Screaming Orphans from County Donegal, Ireland. The Screaming Orphans are 4 sisters raised in the magic of County Donegal, Ireland. There’s a great tradition of music found there, especially in the Gaeltacht or Irish-speaking areas which have produced Clannad, Altan and Enya. They’ve traveled Europe, America and Canada, appearing on David Letterman and many other shows and also recorded with Peter Gabriel and on Joni Mitchell’s “Magdalene Laundries” for the Chieftains “Tears of Stone” album. This will be an acoustic concert featuring traditional songs and ballads “they learned from their Mam!”
