Coffee & Conversation with Deon Blackwell
October 15 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Join us for Coffee & Conversation with Deon Blackwell on Thursday, October 15, from 12–1 p.m. at the Dunedin Fine Art Center.
Sponsored by DFAC’s Sterling Society, this casual conversation gives you the opportunity to hear directly from Deon about his creative process, his work with ceramics, and the ideas behind his art. DFAC Curatorial Director Danny Olda will lead the conversation and Q&A.
Following the discussion, guests will have the opportunity to view Deon’s sculpture, Not Worth My Weight in Salt, featured in the exhibition The Only Lasting Truth. The work is slowly and progressively crumbling from the inside out through a process known as subflorescence and crystallization pressure, making it a fascinating example of how an artwork can continue to change over time.
