The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, St. Petersburg Police Department, Pinellas Park Police Department, and the Gulfport Police Department are hosting an Explorer Academy. Th
e two-week event is an exciting and educational opportunity for the youth of Pinellas County to gain insight on how members of law enforcement serve their community.
The Explorer Academy will be held from June 4-7 and June 11-14 at St. Petersburg College. It is open to young men and women between the ages of 14 and 17.
The requirements include:
-Must be currently enrolled in high school in Fall 2019
-Must pass a background check
-Must be in good physical and mental health to be able to perform the physical exercises
If interested, please submit completed applications by May 15, 2019. The non-refundable fee is $50, and it covers graduation day, a t-shirt, and supplies for the academy.
