Dunedin Cares Girl Power June Drive

FEMININE CARE PRODUCT DRIVE

The number of families in the USA needing assistance from food pantries continues to increase every year. The lack of access to menstrual health products for people who are either homeless or low-income is appalling. These necessary products are not covered by SNAP or any other welfare program.  Each month, this leaves countless people without the products many of us take for granted.

During the month of June, please help to support Dunedin Cares’ “Girl Power” feminine care product drive by donating maxi pads, mini pads, panty liners and tampons. Or make a monetary donation to Dunedin Cares (cash, check or online) and identify your donation is in support of our “Girl Power” drive. With your help, we can help so many who cannot afford these necessary products.

Dunedin Cares – Bootlegger’s Ball

A special thank you to our Pantry Family!

We are pleased to invite you to attend the 1st Annual Dunedin Cares, Inc. fundraiser on Saturday, January 22. The theme is the Bootleggers Balla Roaring 20’s Gala hosted at The Dunedin Golf Club, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.

The gala will feature a fun-filled evening, with entertainment, food, drinks, dancing, and auctions. Roaring 20’s attire is encouraged but not required.

We do expect this event to sell out, which is why we wanted to provide our immediate Pantry Family with the link to buy tickets early. They will be available to the general public starting August 1st, so please don’t wait if you would like to join us!

The Covid pandemic took a tremendous toll on our community, and our dramatic increase in demand has not slowed down. Our numbers are up 40% higher than they were at this time last year. This influx has also made clear that we will need to begin looking for a larger building. This gala’s purpose is to raise funds for making that quest a reality.

We would be honored if you would join us or provide an Auction item.  There are three sponsorship levels as well as single ticket reservations available.

We appreciate your consideration in helping continue the mission of Dunedin Cares Food Pantry. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via phone at 727-410-8495 or by email at admin@dunedincares.org.

Dunedin Cares 🍴 2021 Peanut Butter & Jelly Drive Weight In

PB&J Challenge Weight In

According to elementary schools.org, over 51% of the Public Elementary and Middle Schools in the Greater Dunedin area have students who participate in the Free or Reduced Rate lunch program.

Summer vacation which commences May 29-August 14 increases the financial hardship on families who need to provide breakfast and lunch for their children, thus the increased demand and the Challenge.

Dunedin Cares is asking local businesses, churches, civic organizations, and individuals to participate in the Peanut Butter and Jelly Challenge so they can stock their shelves to meet this increased summer need.

The Pantry needs canned tuna, canned chicken, peanut butter and jelly, oatmeal, cereal, pancake mix, maple syrup, and more!*

*Please, no bulk containers! We prefer easy-open and small-medium sizes in plastic (rather than glass) containers!

The Challenge will run from April 15 through May 15.

The bothers, Hugh and Ciaran, from Dublin, have an impressive list of achievements since officially forming in 2017. Songwriting is of huge importance to them and they have been internationally recognized for their original and uplifting songs. The Finns are creating some of the most exciting music in Ireland right now with their rootsy sounds of banjo, acoustic guitars, and harmonicas on top of close harmonies; The Finns music is honest, catchy, and has explosive energy.
