PCSO Community Grant Applications – Deadline March 31

Community Grant Applications Now Open

Every year the Sheriff’s Citizens Association funds local initiatives through its Community Grant Program. Awards of up to $1,000 will be given to programs that empower youth, support children and families, or to programs founded by young people. Funds for the award come from Citizens Association members’ annual dues and donations throughout the year. Last year the Citizens Association gave a total of $15,000 to worthy initiatives. The Sheriff’s Citizens Association is a networking group of members who are dedicated to supporting and learning more about the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO). A committee votes on the winners. If your organization could use a little help in helping the community, please apply here. The application deadline is March 31, 2023.

Dunedin Fine Art Center | 1143 Michigan Blvd | Dunedin, FL 34698

In 1922, the New York Times reported that ” Gainsborough’s ‘Blue Boy’ is even more well-known than the Mona Lisa.” This iconic painting, originally titled “Portrait of a Young Gentleman,” was first exhibited in London in 1770. When admiring critics called it “The Blue Boy,” the nickname stuck. In 1922, the painting came to America when it was sold to American railway tycoon Henry Huntington. Its $728,000 sale price was the highest price ever paid for a painting at that time. Learn how and why Gainsborough created this iconic masterpiece (which was not a commissioned work) and what prompted the painting’s extraordinary fame.
