Community Memorial Day Service Monday, May 28

The Church of the Good Shepherd invites the entire community to an ecumenical prayer service to honor those who died while serving this country and its allies in the Armed Forces. The Dunedin Highland Middle School Pipe Band performs, and the Color Guard from the Suncoast Sea Cadets presents the flags. The service features a guest speaker and prayers for those who made the ultimate sacrifice, for those in active service, and for veterans, both living and dead. A solemn roll call is read with the names of those on the hearts of the people attending the service.

This year’s officiant and speaker is the Rev. Robert Swick, a priest in the Orthodox Catholic Church. Father Bob serves as a chaplain and veterans advocate in the Bay area, and is Chairman/CEO of the Tampa Bay Veterans Alliance. A lovely reception follows the service.

For more information, contact the Church of the Good Shepherd at 727-733-4125.
